National Geographic Museum welcomes school groups, alumni groups, senior groups, social groups, scout groups, science buffs, and any other kind of group you can imagine! If you have more than 25 people, you can take advantage of our special group rates and benefits.

Group Pricing
Adult: $6 each
Child (age 5–12): $4 each
School, scout, and youth groups serving children under 18: Free, reservations required, adult chaperone tickets are $6 each.
How to Reserve a Group Visit
• Call the Group Sales Office at +1 202 857 7281. The office is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST. Or you may fill out an online reservation form and email it to GroupSales[at]ngs.org or fax it back to our office at +1 202 857 7747. Please allow up 48 business hours for a reply.
• All reservation requests are subject to availability of exhibition tickets.
• Receipt of payment and completed letter of agreement guarantees your reservation.
School Groups
Appropriate behavior is expected at all times. Please note there is no lunch space at National Geographic.
Preparing for Your Visit
All exhibitions at National Geographic Museum are self-guided. Detailed visiting information, including arrival process and bus drop-off/pick-up information, will be sent to you as part of your group reservation packet.
Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy
A $4 handling fee will be included with each reservation. Groups of 25–49 must pay in full at the time of booking. Groups of 50 or more will owe a 50% deposit due within 30 days of booking. The balance is due 30 days prior to your visit. Please make all checks payable to National Geographic Museum and send to ATTN: National Geographic Ticket Office/Museum, 1145 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036. Please include the title of the exhibition in the memo line.
If you wish to make changes in the number of tickets in your reservation, please contact the Group Sales Office as soon as possible. Due to capacity limitations, we make no guarantees that we will be able to accommodate your request. No changes to your final ticket count may be made less than 30 days prior to your visit.
No refunds will be made for cancellations made fewer than 30 days prior to your visit date. Reservations canceled more than 30 days in advance of your visit date are refundable in full.
Please notify our Group Sales Office at +1 202 857 7281 of any changes to your reservation as soon as possible. Should you need to reschedule your visit, we well do our best to accommodate your needs.
Visiting Information
All exhibitions at National Geographic Museum are self-guided. Visitor service staff and volunteer docents are available to answer questions.
Accessibility
The galleries of National Geographic Museum are wheelchair accessible. The ramp to access the Museum is located on M Street just east of 17th Street. A limited number of complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Inclement Weather Policy
National Geographic Museum does not generally close due to weather conditions. Call +1 202 857 7588 to inquiry whether the Museum is open or closed. If the recording does not mention a closing, the Museum is open. When the Museum is open, tickets are nonrefundable. If the Museum closes due to inclement weather, group reservations may be rescheduled by contacting the Group Sales Office. Individual ticketholders will be offered alternate viewing hours, which will be posted to the Museum’s website and phone line as soon as possible.
