From the serenity and awe-inspiring natural beauty of the national parks to the people who have lived and worked this frontier, this exhibit is a powerful and nuanced portrait of the American West captured in over a century of photography.
The photographs in this exhibition are a selection from a larger photography exhibition organized by the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in collaboration with the National Geographic Society and Museums West, presented by The Mays Family Foundation.
The exhibition is currently on view at ten museums throughout the United States. A companion book, National Geographic Greatest Photographs of the American West: Capturing 125 Years of Majesty, Spirit, and Adventure, is available for sale online and wherever books are sold.
