Photograph by Robert B. HaasShowcasing knife-edged peaks and lush jungles, bird-flocked coastlines and harsh deserts, “Through the Eyes of the Condor” is a soaring thrill ride over the captivating beauty of Latin America.
From the Strait of Magellan to the Yucatan Peninsula, photographer Robert B. Haas crisscrossed Latin America by helicopter and small plane to capture an aerial vision of its terrain. Lavish and completely captivating, this exhibition splashed the vibrant colors, textures, and rhythms of Latin America across more than a hundred stunning canvases. From high up, surprising patterns emerge from places both grand and simple.
By leaning from the open doors of helicopters and small planes, Haas was able to capture patterns in the land and its wildlife that emerge only from above, showing us that beauty can be found in unexpected places.
The exhibition is accompanied by the beautiful monograph, Through the Eyes of the Condor, (National Geographic Books, 2007; $50 hardcover).
