Join the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and the National Geographic All Roads Film Project for this rare opportunity to see in one location, one week before the February 22 ceremony in Los Angeles, the five films nominated for the 2008 Foreign Language Film Award. Nominations have been announced, so you can begin to plan your schedule! Some films may contain graphic images and language.

An out-of-work cellist takes a job as an undertaker.

A complimentary reception will precede the screening at 7 p.m.

Past nominees have included such critically acclaimed films as The Last Metro, Au Revoir Les Enfants, Salaam Bombay!, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Indochine, Eat Drink Man Woman, The Sea Inside, and Pan’s Labyrinth. One hour before this evening’s screening we will offer an informal reception where you can meet other area film buffs. Don’t miss this unique chance to whet your appetite for foreign language films and to get a leg up on your Oscar night predictions.

The National Archives will host free screenings of the nominees in the Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Live Action Short Film, and Animated Short Film categories from February 18 through 22. Visit the National Archives website for more information.
