The American Prairie Foundation is working to create a thriving wildlife reserve larger than Yellowstone on Montana’s Great Plains. The American Serengeti puts viewers on the ground with scientists as they struggle to rebuild an ecosystem, tracking individual species as some bounce back from near-extinction. The film shows endangered prairie animals making a comeback and looks at other iconic grassland creatures such as pronghorn antelope, cougars, rattlesnakes, and big-horned sheep.
This premiere screening will also feature a panel discussion with Dick Dolan, Managing Director, American Prairie Foundation; Andy Mitchell, the film’s producer; Stephenie Ambrose Tubbs, Lewis & Clark historian; and Dr. Curtis Freese, APF National Council member and World Wildlife Fund representative.
American Serengeti will air on the National Geographic Channel on April 22, Earth Day, at 9 PM EST.
