March 10 – Herod’s Lost Tomb
An Israeli archaeologist claims to have found the tomb of one of the Bible’s great villains—Herod. (2008/50 min)

March 17 – Ancient Voices, Modern World: Colombia
National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Wade Davis journeys into the mountains of Colombia in search of the Arhuaco people—heirs to a great pre-Columbian civilization. (2008/60 min)
Introduced by Dr. Davis and producer Graham Townsley, and presented as part of the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital. The screening will be followed by a special presentation by a delegation from the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

April 7 – Egypt Unwrapped: Mystery of the Screaming Man
Uncovered over 100 years ago, an unidentified mummy with its face frozen in a scream continues to fascinate Egyptologists. (2008/48 min)

April 14 – The Gorilla Murders
As civil war rages around a wildlife sanctuary in the Congo, some of its protected gorillas are found murdered. (2008/50 min)

April 21 – Restoring the Mauri of Lake Omapere
The Māori people attempt to restore the mauri (spirit life) to a New Zealand lake that has suffered environmental degradation, in this film selected by the All Roads Film Project. (New Zealand/2008/52 min)

April 28 – Secret History of Gold
Gold’s appeal spans times and cultures, but the precious metal has a dark side as well. (2008/50 min)

May 5 – CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION
Celebrate Mexico’s history and culture with three films selected by the All Roads Film Project:
