A growing Washington tradition now in its fifth year, the Small Nations Poetry Reading brings together the
ambassadors of nine countries—Austria, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, and Slovenia. The ambassadors read poetry from the countries they represent, in English and in their native languages, reflecting a different theme each year. For this year’s reading, the poems selected will be related to the environment, and the event will be followed by a reception.
