James Balog in the field
Photograph by Svavar JonatonssonA few years ago photographer James Balog launched the Extreme Ice Survey, documenting the rapid changes in the Earth’s glaciers due to global warming. The dramatic images captured by the survey’s cameras were published in National Geographic in 2007, where they offered mute testimony to the reality of climate change. Balog will present an update on this project, showing some of the recent images that offer stark evidence of our planet’s shrinking glaciers.
Copies of Balog’s new book Extreme Ice Now will be available for sale and signing after the presentation.
