This event returns in a new format featuring three entertaining experts who will guide you in a seated tasting of sake, and sushi that has been fished using sustainable methods. Award-winning writer Trevor Corson, author of The Story of Sushi and America’s only “sushi concierge,” joins Hiroko Shimbo, a world-renowned chef and Japanese cuisine authority, to reveal the secrets of enjoying sushi that’s more authentic and better for the environment. Corson and Shimbo are advisors for the Blue Ocean Institute’s Guide to Ocean Friendly Sushi, which helps sushi lovers satisfy their culinary cravings and their desire to protect the ocean. Preeminent sake expert Michael John Simkin will complement the program by sharing his vast knowledge of Japan’s drink of the gods. (Must be 21 or older)
