Photograph by Mark ThiessenJoin underwater explorer Robert Ballard, paleontologist Meave Leakey, polar and deep-ocean explorer Don Walsh, and two members of National Geographic’s 2010 class of Emerging Explorers, Kakenya Ntaiya, who founded the first and only school for girls in her region of southern Kenya, and Albert Yu-Min Lin, a research scientist and engineer who is using non-invasive, computer-based technologies to search for the tomb of Genghis Khan, for a special evening celebrating National Geographic’s 2010 Explorers Symposium. These distinguished guests will share their own personal stories of exploration in a stimulating panel discussion hosted by National Geographic Weekend host Boyd Matson, probing the meaning and importance of exploration in our contemporary world.
