You’ll have a WILD time at National Geographic on World Animal Day:
• Meet more than 70 live geckos in the exhibition Geckos: From Tails to Toepads (Tickets required).
• Experience the music of the animal kingdom and learn how sound works in the exhibition Wild Music.
• View animals on the move around the world in the photography exhibition Great Migrations.
• Register for family photography workshops (kids 3+) led by National Geographic Explorer, inventor and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Greg Marshall, who has dedicated more than 20 years to studying, exploring and documenting ocean life. Learn about the revolutionary animal-borne Crittercam technology Greg developed to record images, sound, and data from an animal’s perspective.
Workshops will take place at 10am, Noon, 2pm. Advance registration is required. To register email NatGeoMuseum[at]ngs.org or call +1 202 857 7154 with your name, child’s name and age, and which workshop you would like to attend.
• Watch screenings of hit National Geographic Kids tv series Toot & Puddle and Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies (PBS & PBS Sprout).
• Take in the speed painting talents of Splash! Animals as they combine music, art, choreography, and lots of flying paint to create portraits of endangered species.
• Grab your camera and go on a family photo-safari.
• Experience the new virtual playground for children who love animals, Animal Jam!
• Complete animal art projects, listen to animal stories, win prizes & lots more!
