Discover a whole new world using digital microscopes while learning about innovations in optics and medicine. Build with LEGO robotics kits to create programmable musicians that can play the drums. Use the engineering cycle to design, build, and test structures on an earthquake table and see if you can create a structure able to withstand seismic waves.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Ideaventions, based in Northern Virginia, is an innovative educational organization focused on Pre-K STEM enrichment programs, research, and development of STEM curriculum and materials, and outreach and partnership initiatives to further science and technology education. Ideaventions provides informal STEM education to children Pre-K-8 using small group lab and workshop experiences. Enrichment programs are offered at area schools and the Science Center. The Ideaventions Science Center, located near Fairfax, Virginia, provides students with bright and spacious laboratories and workshops for unique classes and STEM curriculum research and development. Discover, imagine, and invent with Ideaventions.

Presented in conjunction with 1001 Inventions: Discover the Golden Age of Muslim Civilization, our programs* explore the science, technology, engineering, and mathematic accomplishments of those living in the Muslim world from the 7th to the 17th centuries. These hands-on workshops show modern applications of historic innovations and provide unique connections to the world we live in.

*All programs are free of charge, but the purchase of an admission ticket is required to view the exhibit. Visit ngmuseum.org for pricing and ordering information.
