America I AM: Reading Program

National Geographic has partnered with DC Public Library to create an opportunity for kids to earn a free ticket to the exhibition America I AM: The African American Imprint. Read a book on African American history and culture!

Choose a title from the America I AM Reading List or ask a librarian for suggestions to explore the many contributions of African Americans to the development of the United States. Once you’ve finished your book, sign your reading program postcard and present it at the National Geographic Museum ticket booth located at 1145 17th Street NW. One accompanying adult may purchase a $6 ticket – 50% off the adult price – and the rest of your group may purchase member-rate $10 tickets.

Each child must have his/her own postcard to qualify for a free ticket. The exhibition is open daily from 9am-5pm through May 1. Last entry is at 4pm.
