Ahoy all ye pirates! Create an unforgettable birthday experience for your little buccaneer. National Geographic Museum’s Pirates Birthday Parties include a private party room, goody bags filled with fun pirates treasures, a private tour and treasure hunt in the Real Pirates exhibit led by National Geographic staff, and much more! (Ages 5–12).
What’s included?
• Two hours of party space rental in a private room
• Parking permit for host of party on scheduled day
• Table and chair set up with seating for all party guests and parents
• Pirate dress up, sea shanties, and traditional games
• Tour and treasure hunt of Real Pirates led by National Geographic staff
• Jolly Roger flag-making art project
• Pirate themed goody bags for each child
• Pirate Birthday Party group photo and personalized certificate for birthday boy or girl
Pirate birthday party invitations are available in packs of ten for $15 each.
Cost: Deposit of $375 for first 10 children, included 2 adult chaperones.
$20 per additional child, and additional adult admission tickets $9
Group size: For groups 10+, must have 2 adult chaperones per 10 children (included in deposit).
Registration Deposits must be received to hold date. To register please call 202.857.7154. You will receive an email from the National Geographic staff the week before your party to confirm the number of children attending and to finalize payment.
Cancellation and Transfer Policies
Cancellations received up to four weeks in advance of the party date will receive a 75% refund.
Transfers received four weeks before the scheduled party date will be charged a 10-percent administrative fee. Requests for transfers will be accommodated as schedule availability allows.
The exhibition tells the story of the crew of a real pirate ship that started as a slave ship—and gives some insights into the violence and idealism of early 18th-century piracy.
Ahoy, me mateys! Tired of the same old pirate stories? National Geographic Museum brings Real Pirates to life with historical re-enactors, telescope making, and traditional pirate tunes. Create your own jolly roger, see a live pirate show and falconry demonstration, learn how to build a boat and dive into the world of underwater archaeology!
