A former bass player for Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, Melissa Auf der Maur’s artistic journey has taken her from rock music to photography. Her images have been published in major magazines and exhibited internationally. In an evening filled with startling imagery, Auf der Maur will discuss this work and her multimedia concept project, “Out of Our Minds,” in conversation with Robert Michael Murray, National Geographic’s vice president for social media.
