Journey with award-winning nature photographer Peter Essick through the Ansel Adams Wilderness—a place in the Sierra Nevada named for the legendary American photographer who immortalized its stark, craggy beauty. Essick will share with you his own evocative photographs from the new National Geographic book The Ansel Adams Wilderness, and you’ll enjoy images of other powerful natural landscapes he has documented. A contributor to National Geographic for 25 years, Peter Essick was recently named one of the world’s 40 most influential nature photographers by Outdoor Photography. Introduction by Jamie Williams, President of The Wilderness Society.

Reception to follow. Copies of The Ansel Adams Wilderness will be available for sale and signing.

Co-sponsored with National Geographic Books and The Wilderness Society.

The National Geographic Museum will be open until 7:15 p.m. on April 16. Get admission to A New Age of Exploration and our other exhibitions for an additional $7 when you purchase your ticket to this event.
