Former International Space Station Commander TERRY VIRTS helped to install the outpost’s 360-degree observation module, which not only helped him to take more photos than any astronaut before him, but gives those who see the images a deeper understanding of our planet’s beauty, climate, and place in the universe.

Terry Virts, NASA Astronaut

Former International Space Station Commander Terry Virts helped to install the outpost’s 360-degree observation module, and made good use of it, taking hours of video and hundreds of thousands of still images, including some featured in the National Geographic book View From Above.

Speaker Highlights
Terry is one of the stars of the new IMAX film entitled, “A Beautiful Planet.”
On February 8, 2010 he made his first spaceflight as pilot of the Space Shuttle Endeavour during STS-130—the mission to deliver the now famous Cupola, which provides astronauts with a 360° view of the International Space Station (ISS) and our planet.
His new book "View from Above" will be released Sept 2017.
