Race: What Defines Us?

Duration
90
Ticket Price
$35

On the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination—and in conjunction with National Geographic’s April 2018 issue devoted to race—join us to reflect on the history of the social justice movement and explore its future. The team from the podcast "Pod Save The People," led by host and prominent organizer and activist DeRay Mckesson, and contributors including educator and author, Clint Smith III; Brittany Packnett, Vice President of National Community Alliances for Teach for America; and Samuel Sinyangwe, policy analyst and co-founder of Campaign Zero, will take you inside current conversations about social justice   and talk about what each of us can do to make a difference. Special guests and National Geographic Explorers Jedidah Isler and Keolu Fox will shift the focus to science, and reveal how increasing diversity and inclusion in the discipline furthers innovation and discovery, bringing us closer to scientific breakthroughs that will benefit us all.
